Sultan Idris Shah (SIS) Green Energy Plant

Selangor will be the first and pioneer state to invest in green energy, research, and development, as KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) and its partners plan to build a flagship Waste-to-Energy (WTE) power plant at Rawang of Gombak District, Selangor Darul Ehsan.

The Selangor State Government has approved the project worth RM4.5 billion to accelerate  the use of modern technologies in addressing Selangor’s garbage disposal issues.

This project will leverage WTE technology as it does not require a large parcel of land and has no adverse environmental impacts. The Selangor State envisioned the WTE Sector as crucial in moving towards a resource-efficient, low-carbon, and circular economy.
