KDEBWM Waste Collection Contract Extended For Another 7 Years

Selangor state owned waste management entity KDEBWM has rolled out a total of 700 ‘Roll On Roll Off’ (Roro) lorries and 600 new compactor lorries are provided to operate across all the local authority as part of a contract extension by the State Government.
 


The local government’s EXCO said the provision of assets follows the extension of the solid waste management company’s contract with all PBTs effective March 1 for seven years. Dato’ Ng Suee Lim informed that the Royal Klang City Council became the first PBT to receive 75 compactor trucks last October. “The Selayang Municipal Council became the second PBT with 49 compactor trucks, 20 RORO trucks while the third Ampang Jaya Municipal Council received 44 compactor trucks and three RORO trucks today. “MPKj became a local authority receiving the highest number of services of 120 RORO trucks, 100 compactor trucks,” he said .


KDEBWM Managing Director Dato’ Ramli Tahir and MPS Chairman Dato’ Mohd Yazid Sairi were also present.


Suee Lim added the connection of contract services between KDEBWM and PBT in line with the State Government’s desire to implement a more systematic waste management system. He explained that close cooperation between the State Government, PBT and KDEBWM is necessary to provide the best services for the well-being of the people. The Letter of Acceptance (SST) was signed today between MPS and KDEBWM as an extension of the existing service contract that started on March 1, 2017 and will end on February 29, 2024,” he said.
