KDEB Waste Management Bhd (KDEBWM) has launched new compactor trucks, mini compactors and a market roll-off truck to bolster domestic waste collection under the Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL), ahead of its contract renewal effective July 1, 2025.
The initiative marks an expansion of services across 23 zones including traditional villages, aimed at improving collection efficiency and reducing disruptions. A pilot project involving electric compactor trucks (EVs) will also begin in industrial areas within Shah Alam.
KDEBWM is enhancing its operations with Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based monitoring systems for better cost optimisation and oversight.
In support of human capital development, the company is advancing technical training and certification in line with the National TVET Policy to develop a skilled local workforce in waste management. Community engagement continues through recycling drives and waste awareness campaigns in collaboration with MPKL.
The event also unveiled KDEBWM’s new corporate image, underscoring its commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles and long-term sustainability.
