Technical Visit to Banyumas Indonesia
Technical Visit to Banyumas Indonesia

EVENTS
Banyumas, Indonesia
KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) began its visit with a courtesy meeting at the Banyumas Regent Office with Bupati Banyumas, Pak Sadewo. The session provided valuable insights into the local waste management approach, which is strongly driven by community participation. Dato’ Hj. Ramli also shared KDEBWM’s role in Selangor, highlighting our operational framework and system management.
The delegation then proceeded with site visits to several key facilities, including KSM Sokaraja, TPST Sokaraja, TPA BLE, as well as KSM Purwanegara and Sokanegara. At the KSM (Kelompok Swadaya Masyarakat) sites, active community involvement was evident through ongoing basic sorting and recycling initiatives.
At TPST Sokaraja, a structured waste processing flow was observed — from waste sorting to the conversion of organic materials into compost and maggot, recovery of recyclables, and processing of residual waste into RDF, significantly reducing reliance on landfills. TPA BLE was also observed to be well-managed, with proper zoning and controlled site operations.
Overall, Banyumas demonstrates a practical and community-driven waste management model, supported by centralised facilities, with continuous opportunities for improvement in capacity and operational efficiency.
