EGYPT INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION CENTRE, CAIRO
The 12th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12) took place at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre in Cairo from 4th to 8th November 2024. During the conference, the Managing Director of KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM), YBhg. Dato’ Haji Ramli Mohd Tahir, shared his ideas, views, and experience in his presentation on “Smart Waste Management for Smart State.”

This year, WUF12 is focusing on the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting the critical local actions and initiatives required to address global challenges such as unaffordable housing, climate change, and the lack of basic services, which have direct impacts on people's daily lives.

The WUF12 is a great platform that offers a valuable opportunity to engage in global discussions on urbanization, learn from international stakeholders and explore ways to build sustainable, resilient cities for future generations. This experience will undoubtedly serve as a lasting memory and contribute to the company’s continued efforts in promoting environmental sustainability and smart waste management.

The ceremony was honoured by the presence of YAB Tuan Nga Kor Ming, Minister of Housing and Local Government, YAB Dato' Seri Amiruddin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor, YB Dato’ Ng Suee Lim, State EXCO of Tourism and Local Government & Chairman of KDEBWM Board, and YBhg Dato’ Setia Hj Haris Kassim, Selangor State Secretary.
